Our Mission

Welcome to our new Diamond Peak Mountain Bike CAMPS! These camps are designed to provide athletes with the opportunity to learn about our environment, build mountain biking skills, and enjoy the beautiful Tahoe summer we're lucky to experience. With these camps, we aim to continue to develop each athletes skill, grit, and integrity and to inspire and empower each of our athletes to achieve their personal goals in athletics and in life!

Athletes must have been riding a bike for two years or more and have the athletic ability to ride continuously for an hour on easy terrain. 

What's included in these camps? 

Diamond Peak Mountain Bike Camps offer an exciting week of skill-building, trail exploration, and fun for young riders. Each day is designed to improve each athletes mountain biking techniques, while enjoying the beautiful Tahoe landscape. Here’s a quick overview of what a week might look like: 

Monday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school for intro activities and games, followed by a ride to the pump track for skill drills.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Load up for a trip to the Incline Flume trail to introduce trail riding.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Tuesday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for the Incline Flume, and begin with a warm-up off the bike. Continue working on skills on the trail.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Continue riding and practicing skills on the trail.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Head back to the middle school for pick-up.

Wednesday:

  • 9:00 am - 1:30 pm: Meet at the middle school, load up for a trip to North Tahoe. After a warm-up, ride the Woop Loop trail with a lunch break along the way.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Thursday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for Tyrolian Downhill, and warm up off the bike. Focus on descending techniques, including body position and braking.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Full run of Tyrolian, working on flow and confidence on descents.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Friday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for Tahoe XC, and warm up off the bike. Ride to a fun loop like Antone Meadows, focusing on endurance and trail awareness.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Lunch break with a debrief on the week.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Fun ride back, with challenges and mini-games along the way.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

  • Full suspension Mountain Bike
  • Bike Helmet 
  • Knee pads, Elbow pads, Back Protector (ski back protector), Flat shoes, Bike Gloves. 
  • Water bottle/CamelBak backpack
  • Suggested: Water bottle cage, small backpack, lightweight jacket for changing weather

IVGID Recreational Pass Holder
IVGID has asked us to collect information pertaining to the demographics of our athletes. Is the enrolled athlete(s) an Incline Village General Improvement District IVGID Recreational Pass Holder?


DPSEF MEMBERS
Subject to other criteria contained in the Foundation's governing documents, for purposes of this enrollment: the enrolled athlete, if older than eighteen (18) years of age, is the DPSEF "member".

If the enrolled athlete is younger than eighteen (18) years, the first listed (one) parent or guardian who appears on the athlete's DPSEF enrollment form is the DPSEF "Member." If there are two (2) or more enrolled athletes, the second listed parent or guardian who appears on the athlete's DPSEF enrollment form is also a DPSEF "Member".

DPSEEF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a year-round program to develop each athlete's skill, grit, and integrity and to inspire and empower each of their athletes to achieve their personal goals in athletics and in life. Athlete tuition covers only about 60% of the team’s operating expenses. The remainder of the funds come through generous donors and fundraising, including our chairlift sponsorship program, Ullr Fest, and hosted Ski Races at Diamond Peak Ski Resort.

The following waivers and releases must be reviewed and signed in order to complete registration.


DPSEF Regular Refund Policy
If an athlete decides to drop from the camp before the first day of camp: 100% refund MINUS $25 administration fee + third-party processing fee.

DPSEF Coach decides that the athlete is not a good fit for the camp within the first day of the camp: 85% refund MINUS $25 Administration Fee + third-party processing fee.

If an athlete has attended camp and decides to drop from the camp BEFORE the 3rd camp day: 50% refund MINUS $25 administration fee + third-party processing fee.

If an athlete has attended camp and then decides to drop from the team AFTER the 3rd camp day, 0% refund.

It is understood that Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation (DPSEF) may furnish first aid care, including, but not limited to, transportation of the injured person to a facility where definitive medical care can be provided at the cost of the individual. The furnishing of such care in no way is an admission of, or assumption of, liability on the part of DPSEF or its officers, agents, or employees. It is understood that DPSEF will attempt to contact the parent/guardian of the minor, if possible, prior to transporting the minor to a physician or medical facility for emergency medical treatment. The undersigned grants permission to any licensed physician and/or medical facility to render emergency medical care to said minor and consents to such treatment.

For valuable consideration, I hereby consent to and authorize the taking, editing, use, publication, sale, and reproduction by DPSEF, or anyone authorized by DPSEF, of all photographs and video recordings taken by DPSEF and anyone authorized by DPSEF, which are taken of me, for any purpose whatsoever without compensation to me. All photos and video files (digital files/negatives together with prints) shall constitute property of DPSEF and/or its contractors, solely and completely.
Privacy disclosure: DPSEF never sells or distributes members' information to any third party.


Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation Code of Conduct

In order to participate in any Team of the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation, it is the responsibility of each athlete to meet the following requirements:
Review, understand, sign and abide by the Code of Conduct
Review and understand the DPSEF Discipline Plan as outlined in the Code of Conduct.
Be prepared for each camp day.
Support and maintain the Mission Vision and Values of Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation
In order for a Camper to participate in any camp of the DPSEF, it is the responsibility of his or her parents to meet the following requirements:
Review, understand, sign, and abide by the Code of Conduct.

DPSEF athletes will show respect for DPSEF employees, facilities, property, operating procedures, and the public. DPSEF athletes will exhibit courtesy and good manners, responsible behavior, and mature conduct and not use profane or abusive language. Our members will demonstrate their respect for their sport and others by attending awards ceremonies and receptions whenever appropriate.

This Code of Conduct parallels the USSA Code of Conduct and applies to all athletes, coaches, parents, and officials of the Diamond Peak Ski Team. Courteous, respectful, responsible, ethical, and sportsmanlike conduct is always expected from all team members.

Code of Conduct violations include, but are not limited to:
Unsafe behavior could threaten the safety of anyone. Example: Reckless, disruptive, or unsafe behavior.
Willful defiance - continued backtalk to coaches, the general public, and volunteers.
Profanity in any form at any time.
Illegal use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.

DPST Discipline Plan
1st Violation: Verbal warnings may be given prior to written violations to provide time for voluntary corrective action. If unsuccessful, a written warning detailing the problem and the next step of action to be taken will be sent to parents. Campers can return to the team activities only after the Lead coach and parents communicate, and the written warning is signed by parents and returned to the Lead coach.

2nd Violation: Written notice of continuing problem sent to parents and simultaneously Lead coach will be suspended from all team activities until the Lead coach, athlete, and parent meet, or at minimum, coach and parent discuss a solution to a continuing problem.
3rd Violation: Indefinite suspension from team activities and return of loaned equipment. The lead coach and parent communicate and determine the final action plan for the athlete, including whether or not the camper will continue to be a member of the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation. If an athlete is removed from the team, registration fees will not be refunded.
Depending on the seriousness of the violation, the penalty for the first violation may be escalated by the Program Director or the Board of Directors to either 2nd or 3rd violation consequences.

Actions taken on the policies of the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation are subject to lead coaches’ discretion and can be appealed to by parents and athletes. An appeal requires a meeting with the involved lead coach, team manager, parent, and athlete.

I have read and understood the DPSEF Code of Conduct. I acknowledge receipt of a copy of the above and agree to abide by the rules and policies set forth.
